Tour Itinerary – Myra, St. Nicholas & the Sunken City of Kekova

Hotel Pick-up & Journey to Demre
Guests are picked up from their hotels in Antalya and travel in a comfortable private vehicle (minibus or coach) towards Demre. The scenic route offers beautiful views of the Mediterranean coastline along the way.

Demre (Ancient Myra)
Once known as Myra, this ancient Lycian city is home to significant historical and cultural landmarks:

• St. Nicholas Church: Visit the church built in honor of St. Nicholas, the bishop whose life inspired the Santa Claus legend. This is believed to be the original site of his tomb.
• Lycian Rock-Cut Tombs: Explore the impressive tombs carved into cliffs, overlooking the ancient city and its surroundings.
• Roman Theatre: Discover the history of the well-preserved theatre, once capable of hosting up to 10,000 spectators.

Lunch Break
Enjoy a traditional Turkish lunch at a local restaurant in Demre or Ucagiz. Beverages are available at an additional cost.

Boat Trip to Kekova & the Sunken City

Embark on a scenic boat tour exploring the Kekova region:

• Cruise through Ucagiz & Simena: Enjoy views of charming coastal villages, including Simena, known for its medieval castle ruins.
• The Sunken City: Witness the partially submerged remains of an ancient city that sank after an earthquake. Learn about its fascinating history during the cruise.
• Swimming Break: Depending on weather and sea conditions, there will be a stop for swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Kekova Bay. Don't forget your swimsuit and towel!

Return Journey to Antalya
After lunch, relax on a picturesque coastal drive back to Antalya. Along the way, pass through quaint villages and stunning natural landscapes.
